Simplified and economical maintenance
The absence of refractory (apart from the burner throat and the rear inspection cover) is a significant advantage in terms of maintenance and down-time.
Sturdiness and long life
The water-tube rear gas transfer chamber enables the furnace to be centred. This means the longitudinal load stresses on the tube plates are symmetrical which minimises operational stresses. The active circulation of the water in the gas transfer chamber ensures continuous cooling of the tube walls, regardless of the operating conditions and steaming rates.
Flexibility of use
The water-tube chamber provides more rapid load recovery following heavy steam demand fluctuations and cold starts.
Efficiency
The BWR boilers can be supplied with enhancements to achieve efficiencies up to 95% with feed water economisers and up to 97% with additional water-water and/or water-air economisers.
Different operating modes
Equipment options include control and instrumentation for fully manned, supervised or unattended operation.
Energy and environment
To improve efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and electrical power consumption and obtain very low NOx emissions, BABCOCK WANSON offers the Ecosteam® pack on this boiler range.
